Drums Alive® is the original drumming fitness program and the only one that actively participates in research studies to prove its effectiveness. The claims we make of our program’s benefits are truly evidence-based. Many school teachers who previously attended our Drums Alive® Academic Beats™ trainings told us they absolutely love or program and they provided us with feedback, asking us to develop lesson plans that would make it easy for them to implement Drums Alive® in their classrooms and sustain the program in their schools. We took their feedback to heart and with the help of a team of school teachers, we designed and developed DRUMTASTIC™.
DRUMTASTIC™ Basic Module
For the DRUMTASTIC™ Basic Module, we’ve developed over 100 lesson plans that clearly explain the classroom set up, the equipment needed, the suggested music, safety tips, inclusion strategies, and of course the actual movements and drumming patterns used in the lessons. The lesson plans cover topics ranging from balance and proprioception; cardiovascular workouts that include the use of drumsticks only, or balls only, or drumsticks with one ball, or drumsticks with two balls, or drumsticks with three balls; brain exercises using rhythm; strength exercises; cool down and stretch; and more. Each lesson plan lists the national PE learning standards and many list the music learning standards, making this a cross-curricular program. Future modules of DRUMTASTIC™ will have lesson plans for language arts, math, science, and more musical concepts. To support the lesson plans, there are more than 300 accompanying task and activity cards; videos; and music. We’re happy to report that the school teachers with whom we’ve shared DRUMTASTIC™ have all given us a happy “thumbs up”!

We are preparing to officially launch DRUMTASTIC™ by the end of February 2016 and we are taking pre-orders for the DRUMTASTIC™ curriculum kits.
While it’s not essential to attend a DRUMTASTIC™ training, it does make it easier to understand how all the different components of this program fit together.
